Laolu Akande, Snr Special Assistant Media and Publicity to Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday said that his principal would sign the 2017 Budget into law when he’s satisfied with it.
The N7.441 trillion budget was passed by the National Assembly exactly one week ago, on May 11.
But Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said that the Budget was yet to be transmitted to the presidency.
Lai Mohammed also said that a decision to sign the Budget was yet to be taken – between President Muhammadu Buhari who’s currently away on medical vacation and Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
But reacting to speculations on Wednesday, Akande said that Osinbajo will assent it “when everything is set”.
“Just so we are clear: when the time comes, everything is set, & he is satisfied, Ag. President Yemi Osinbajo will assent to the 2017 Budget,” he tweeted.
